This SHOT Show auction rifle features hand engraving by Heidi Roos of Baron Engraving in Trumbull, CT. Heidi is also the engraver of other highly successful SHOT Show auction guns.
Commenting on the engraving style she selected for this Mark V, Heidi said, “Inspired by the manufacturer’s design, to accentuate the fluted-barrel profile, I created a modern look by bringing together hand engraving and Cerakote finishing for a thoroughly 21st century style. The style continues on the trigger guard and floorplate with a hand-engraved Weatherby logo in silver, singling out this elegant firearm for the 70th Anniversary.”
This new Mark V features the first significant refinements to this classic rifle since its introduction in 1958, maximizing the rifle’s fit, feel and performance. The rifle features reduced overall weight, new LXX trigger and hand-lapped barrel for consistent accuracy.
All Mark Vs are guaranteed to shoot sub-MOA. This rifle printed a three-shot test group of 0.66-inches and a mean radius of .25.
This special rifle is mounted with a Leupold Vari-X III 4.5 x 14, a superb and highly appropriate scope for the long-range capabilities of this Weatherby.
The new Weatherby 6.5-300 Magnum is the fastest production 6.5mm there is, delivering velocities in excess of 3,500 FPS with factory ammo.
The Weatherby may be viewed at the SHOT Show at the GunBroker.com booth, #15147.
The SHOT Show auction is administered for the National Shooting Sports Foundation by the Hunting Heritage Trust.

The above chart shows the approximate first serial number shipped for the indicated year. This number should be used as a point of reference only. It is not necessarily the very first serial number shipped, but it can be used to determine the approximate year your Ruger firearm was shipped.
Ruger does not necessarily produce firearms in serial number order. There are occasions when blocks of serial numbers have been manufactured out of sequence, sometimes years later. Also, within a model family the same serial number prefix may be used to produce a variety of different models, all in the same block of serial numbers. And in some cases, firearms may be stored for a length of time before they are shipped.
For details on your specific serial number you may contact our Service Department: 336-949-5200
For serial numbers manufactured prior to our electronic records, or for an official letter confirming the details on your firearm please download and mail in the Request for Letter of Authenticity form.
